    TISSNET Eligibility Criteria

    • A bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university.
    • Candidates in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply for TISSNET.
    • The applicant must have atleast 15 years of total education in their academic profile
    • Candidates studying in the final year of their graduation but have not passed in all their previous years’ papers are not eligible to apply for any of the master’s courses offered by TISS.
    • There is no age limit criteria nor restriction on the number of attempts.

    Note: Candidates who are applying for a Master of Arts (Organization Development, Change and Leadership) should possess at least 2 years of work experience in any field (post their graduation). 

    TISSNET Selection Procedure

    • All candidates who successfully qualify TISSNET will be called for Pre-Interview Test/Group Discussion and Interview round. 
    • Only candidates who obtain the minimum cutoff score are eligible to participate in TISSNET SELECTION PROCEDURE.
    • TISSNET Selection Procedure has three components of assessment. The components are

    1. National Entrance Test
    2. Pre-Interview Test / Group Discussion (GD)
    3. Personal Interview (PI)

    Pre-Interview Test

    • Candidates who will be shortlisted after the entrance examination will be invited for the subsequent round of Pre-Interview Test.
    • The Pre-Interview Test is awritten test conducted as a part of the TISSNET Selection Procedure.
    • It carries 50 marks and 30% weightage in the selection process.
    • There will be 2 sections
    • Section I (25-30 Marks) will be of Essay Writing (1000-1500 words)
    • Section II (20-25 Marks) will be a short case-let with 4 questions based on it.
    • The duration of PIT is 35-45 minutes.

    Personal Interview Round

    • The final round of the TISSNET selection process is the Personal Interview (PI).
    • Candidates are expected to be acquainted with the program for which they have applied, for the PI round.
    • The questions are normally asked regarding their program the candidates choose.
    • It carries 75 marks and 30% weightage in the selection process.

    TISSNET vs TISSMAT: Highlights

    Let's take a quick look at some of the highlights of the basic differences between TISSNET and TISSMAT.

    • TISSMAT will be conducted for admission of the candidates to the postgraduate courses in management offered by TISS while TISSNET is conducted for all postgraduate courses of TISSNET.

    • Students who want to take admission to the postgraduate courses of TISS will have to take the TISSNET exam only but candidates who want admission to the PG management courses of TISS will have to take TISSNET and TISSMAT exams.

    Q1.What is the TISSMAT exam?

    TISSMAT is the entrance exam for admission to the MA courses in management offered by TISS. The exam will be conducted from 2020 onwards in addition to the TISSNET exam.

    Q2.I want to take admission to TISS. Do I have to appear for TISSNET or TISSMAT?

    For admission to the 45 MA courses of TISS (excl. management courses), you have to appear for TISSNET only.
    If you want to take admission to the MA HRM&LR or the MA ODCL course at TISS, you will have to appear for TISSNET and TISSMAT both.

    Q3. Is there any negative marking in the TISSMAT exam?

    Yes. 0.25 (1/4) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer in the TISSMAT exam.
